A remarkably rich find of silver is reported from the Central mine Broken Hill. A specimen shows 3400z to the ton.

News from the East states that a south west monsoon did great damage to the shipping at Bombay.
The dispute between the Dutch and the Achenese still continues. In a recent engagement the latter lost 300 men, The Dutch lost one captain and three soldiers.
