LONDON MARKETS. By Electric Telegraph. — Copyright. I PEK UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.] London, July 15. The present series of wool sales closed with 8000 bales only unsold. Prices remain firm to the last. Good fine wools realised 5 to 10 per cent above May rates. Coarse and poor qualities remained about par. American buyers have taken about 10,000 bales. The New Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) have received the ..following cable message from ther London office, dated 1 5th I instant : —
Wool — The sales closed firmly this day. The following advances may be noted as having taken place since the close of the previous sales : — Superior greasy merino, £d per lb ; combing £d to ld per lb ; clothing (washed), per lb ; scoured merino, ld to l£d per lb ; fine greasy croesbred, ld per lb ; fine scoured crossbred, Id per lb ; greasy merino lambs. £d per lb. Other descriptions are unchanged, The sales comprise about 315,000 bales; 9000 bales have been held over for future disposal ; 145,000 bales have been taken for the Continent, and 10,000 bales for America.'
Frozen meat — The price of mutton has declined £d siuce last report.
Canterbury lamb is worth 7^d per lb.
