(per united press association.) Auckland. July 3. To-day the Cust >ms authorities seized several cases of drapery belonging to a large wholesale Houie tirin having agencies in the colonies. It is understood that the seizure is the outcome of investigations made by Mr Shannon, Customs expert. A young man, 23 years of age, named William Taylor, took a dose of strychnine to-day, at Taupiri, and died shortly afterwards. The cause is said to be disappointment in love. Wanganpi, July 3. [ Mr T. Walker, of the Zealandia Boot Depot, filed his schedule yesterday, owing Lightband, Allan and Co. £1849 out : of the total liabilities of £2431. Blknhbtm, July 3. Stewart, charged yesterday with obtaining a life policy (Equitable, IT S.A.) by misrepresentation, has been com- ; mitted for trial. The case is a very extraordinary one.
