Volunteer Items
The Manchester Rifles paraded last night. There was a full muster of officers and men. Captain Pleasants was in command. Sergeant -Major Macmillan drilled the men in the barracks as the weather was too inclement for work outside as was originally intended. In connection with the misconduct of volunteers at the Easter Encampment in Auckland, certain diffic;ilties have arisen among the officers, several of whom are now under arrest, and Colonel Hume has gone up to try them by court martial.
