At the wool auctions, the advance previously quoted has been maintained There is still an upward tendency. Foreigners were large buyers, and they took fully one-third of the bales offered. The N.Z.L. & M.A. Company have received the following message from their London office, dated 21st instant : — Wool — The sales progress firmly. Scoured merino has advanced £d per lb, and fine greasy crossbred id to Id per lb since close of last sales. Tallow. — Market easier. Fine qualities are not in demand. Good mutton is worth £28 ss, and good beef £25 15s per ton. New Zealand hemp. — Medium is worth £29 per ton.
