It is now seven years since we issued the first number of the Felcding iar and we desire to thank our friends in the district, as well as in other parts of the province and colony, for the large measure of public support we have receired during those years. We have had strong opposition to contend with, but as that is to be found in every business or profession, we have no reason to complain or to expect any exception to be made in our favor. In commencing a new era, we trust that in the future we shall continue to maintain the position we have now gained, and as thb settlement advances in prosperity we shall be permitted to share its good fortune.
