The Wellington Murder

(PER UNITED PBESS A88O0IATIOK. ) Wellington, This Day. In the adjourned hearing of the Kaiwharra murder case this morning; John May was in the vicinity of Khardallah railway station on the evening o.f the 81st May waiting the arrival of the train from Wellington. He heard two Bhots fired in the direction of the farm belonging to deceased. When cross-examined he said he was surprised to hear the shots, as although it was the shooting season, it was too dark at the time to see anything. Inspector Thompson deposed to visiting the scene of the murder on the Ist June. He found fragments of paper with every appearance of burned powder lying about the road and in the gorse fence.
