Education Board

The usual monthly meeting of the Education Board commenced on Tuesday. Present— Messre Carson, Notman, Bridge, Baker, Fry, Beckett, Sanson and Rev Mr Ross.

Election of Chairman.— -This "being the first meeting of the new Board,, the election oi Chairman took place. Or the motion of Mr Sanson, seconded by Mr Fry, Mr Carson, was re-elected. Chairman for the ensuing year, and he thereupon took the chair.

Appointment Committee.— Terrace End : JSii months 7 leave of absence was granted to Mr D H. Gtitbrie a* applied for. Beaconsfield: A letter was received from the Committee with regard to the closing of the school owing to sickness. Stanway : It was decided that Leonard A. McDonald be appointed cadet to the Stanway School subject to his Bending in his certificates.

The meeting then adjourned till next morning.
