Aber--1 corn had the lead at the distance, but Carbine came, and desperately fighting every inch of the run home succeeded in wresting the lead. Then ensued one of the most desperate finishes ever witnessed on the racecourse, Abercorn getting home a neck in front of Carbine. Time, 2min 42sec. A.T.C. Sires' Produce Stakes. — Rudolph, 1 ; Spice, 2. St. Leger. — Melos, 1 ; Volley, 2. Doncaster Handicap. — Russley won from 20 horses.
