The Mariposa, with English mails of February 23, left 'Frisco for Auckland on March 9, contract date. Zealandia, with colonial mails of February 25, reached 'Frisco on March 16, also contract date.

A serious accident occurred at Otaki last night. Rockets were being fired from the balcony of the Railway Hotel, when by some mischance one was shot down in the street and exploded with great force.
