Feilding School Committee
A meeting of the above was held on Saturday night at the school-house. Present — Messrs Watts (chairman). Worsfold, J. C. Thompson, Ranger. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. A letter was read from the Board, enclosing names of candidates nominated for the vacant seat on the Board, Eesolved, That the Committee vote for Messrs Carson aud Fry, aud the Hev.-J. Boss. A letter was received from Mr Blake, re a filter for water for use of the school children. The Chairman reported that subscriptions amounting to £11 5s 4d had been received which, with the balance of los 6d from last year, left £12 0s lOd to be disposed of. Resolved, That owing to the insufficiency of the fuuds the treat be abandoned for this season, but that the usual prizes be given. Resolved, That the Chairman, Secretaro, aud Mr Ranger select books for prizes, aud thai such prizes be distributed ou Tuesday, the 19th inst.
