On Saturday last, as already intimated, a match was fired between teams of the Marton Royal Rifles and the Manchester Rifles.' The full compliment — 12 men — went from Feilding to Marton, but as the Royals could only arrange for the presence of eight men, the sides were reduced accordingly. The weather was fine on the range, except that the sun was very glaring and the atmosphere somewhat" smbkey from the. bush fires. There was a fresh breeze from the N.W. in the afternoon. The Feilding men speak highly of their hospitable reception by the Royals. The Manchester Rifles won by 27 points. The following are the respective scores, seven shots at each mnirfl ? —
