Pecculiar Liquor Case
(tbr press association.) Wanganui, Tliis Dny. A peculiar case was heard in the Polic3 Court this morning. McAlinder, licensee of the Wanganui Hotel, was charged under Section 134 (Licensing Act, 1881,) with supplying drink for tobacco, n appears that " a remittance man," named Fraser, was not able to get money, and was in the habit of buying tobacco and bartering it for liquor. A tine of £5 was inflicted, and under section 203 the conviction waß ordered to be endorsed on the license. . . ••. . - > -:»• '
