EEPOKT OF MAXJ&SRS JFOE THE YEAS 1888. For the. sixth successive year I. have the pleasure of giviafr, you our concise iinaneial stajbement'and report :— Quite aii exodus of members and subscribers from our district has taken place since the last report, but new contributors have been put on tne books, resulting in a nett increase from subscriptions ofdE'3 7s 6d. No member remaining in the distirict has aevered his connection with the Church, or ceased to become, a subscriber. The system of posting quarterly notices to subscribers works well and if they only respond promptly it will save the- committee much trouble. .The, committee may justly be congratulated npon the really voluntary nature of these contributions and I would again urge members to sustain this feature of their giving by responding promptly and freeiy. In March last it was found necessary to expend £10 in strengthening the walls and roof of the Church. Debentures were reduced by £15, and we now have £21 in hand so that when the drawing' for debentures takes place in May next we hope ..still further to reduce them by £30 or j£3s. Our assets would then represent about £700 with a liability of i- Ud. Since Mr Jenkins' departure Mr Shearer has undertaken the duties of choirmaster with considerable success. The committee desire me to ask for him the assistance •of all the young members^ of the congregation, who, may also thereby improve their own knowledge and practice of music. Our organist,, Miss- -Eraser, has, almost unassisted, sustained- the duties with the utmost regularity throughout the year. Messrs Purves, Milson, Bartholomew Yjunr.), and Stevens retire by rotation, and you will be asked to elect four members to fill the vacancies. The following is a summary of receipts and expenditure :—
