Mahakipawa.
A correspondent in Mahakipawa in a letter to a mate who is at present on a visit to Feilding, writes very hopefully of the future of that diggings, He Bays the Wairarapa claim has been bottomed and lots of gold got, and the owners are now driving underground up the creek. Another party washed out several ounces from a false bottom, and are now sinking to the main bottom. There is a lot of gold getting on the main creek which " is right" anywhere it has been bottomed yet. The shaft on the flat is being sunk through good stuff, and some splendid prospects have been obtained going down. The party to which the writer belongs is outting a tail race which will be finished by now, and they expect to be on good gold this week. George Rowley has shipped in Ficton on board a brigantine bound for Sydney. In concluding be invites his mate to go book at once.
