Potatoes are now operating from other markets, and prices rule from £6 10/- to £7 ; flour, £10 to £12; fowls wheat, 4/- to 4/3; bran, £4 10/- ; pollard, £5 ; short oats, 3/5 to 3/6; long Danish and Tartarian, 3/3 to 8/4 ; oatmeal, £17 10/- ; oaten, straw chaff, £3; barley, 8/3; maize, 4/6 to 4/8 ; beans, 3/9 ; peas, 3/6 to 3/9 ; onions, £8 to £9 ; ryegrass, 3/to 3/6 per bushel* ; cocksfoot, 3d to B£d per lb; pearl Parley, £18; split peas, £15 ; factory hams and bacon, 8d ; hams, 9£d ; cheese* s^d to 63 ; eggs, very dull, 7d to 8d ; fresh butter, 7d ; salt butter, 7d to 7£d ; honey, 3d to 4d. Sydney fruits, ex Tekapo, realised good prices, excepting plums, which are now selling at a lower figure. Melbourne consignments consisted wholly jf plums, which ruled at 4/« per half-case. Poultry is still exceedingly dull, and inquiries are not numerous ; quotations are nominally as follow :— Fowls, 2/6 ; ducks, 3/- ; geese, 5/- ; turkeys, 7/- per pair.
