A terrible tragedy is reported from a country district, where a settler named McPherson has been shot dead by an employe . named Johnson. The . latter then turned his attention 1 to Mrp McPherson, whom he battered to death. An 11---ye- old son wa6 also beaten badly about the head, and is not expected to recover A daughter, aged 14, after. witnessing the horrible fate of her parents, fled from the the place, and managed to elude the murderer and effect an escape. Johnson is not yet captured.
