December 26. The troops are grumbling at the cessa ion of active operations. . Deserters from the Arab ranks repor that Osman Digna is preparing for fligh into thp interior. The local sheikhs are gladly co-operating with the British forces for an attack oi Handoub. December 28. Osrnan Digna is rallying the dervishef in tiie neighborhood of Handoub.
