Eefore The Times Parnell-Coninus-sion on Thursday last a .ritness named Burke, au Irish farmer, gave evidence as to the determination arrived at by the Coubue branch of the League to the murder of Lord Mounttnorri-j, and stated that he was asked to assist in the murder. The witness deposed that he had consented to assist in the murder, but eventually declined to have anything to do with the affair. On the night of the murder he (the witness stated) was informed by a companion that the deed had been committed, and that Lord Muntmonis was dead. Sir Charles Russell considerably damaged the witness in croesexamination, without, however, shaking the main points of the evidence. Sir Walter Buller has disposed of the New Zealand Antimony Company's gold mines for LIO,OOO each and 125,000 paid-up shares in the company which is now being formed, with a capital of L 250.000, to work the property. Mutton tallow, 84/6 to 35/- ; beef tallow, 33/6 to 34/. The present stock in is 8000 casks, or 2000 casks more than last week. An address has been presented to Mr John Dillon by one hundred and fifty-five Liberal members of the House of Common, sympathising with him in the unmerited sentence of imprisonment passed on him in June last.
