It is reported that the Emperor WU Ham's affection of the ears is becoming serious, and that fears are entertained that it may possibly deyelop into c^icer. Although His Imperial Majesty has been confined to his palace for a week, an official announcement has been made to the effect that hia condition is satisfactory. An impression is, however, gaining ground that the Emperor's ear complaint is the cause of his indisposition. Paris, Decemb r 4. A boy only eleven years old deliberately murdered a child at Lavaur. After he was arrested he escaped, but was eventually recaptured. Virnna, December 2. The Fortieth Anniversary of the Emperor Francis Joseph 1. was celebrated to-day without public pomp or festivity, the Emperor having desired there should be on outward display. Thirty millions of florins will be given to the charities of the realm, and orders were also given that a thousand parks and avenues throughout Austria and Hungary are to planted with trees in commemoration of the event.
