Dibbs, member for the Murrumbidgee, has giveu a notice of motion, " That this House is of opinion that the Financial Statement should be referred back to the Colonial Treasurer, in order that a just statement of the financial position of the country may be laid before Parliament." Mcßain, president of the exhibition commission, states that he iB unable at present to say when the exhibition is likely to be close. Another shooting case is reported from Wallau- Wallau, a town about thirty miles to the north of this city. It apDears that in a fit of jealousy a draper named Rice met a man named Bennett in the street. Drawing a revolver he fired at the latter, wounding him dangerously. This Day. Three specimens of gold valued at twenty pounds were stolen from the New Zealand Court at the Exhibition yesterday. Brisbane. November 30. Sir Thomas Mcllwraith has resigned the Premiership and Treasurer ship owing to ill-health. He will, however, retain a seat in the cabinet without portfolio.
