Lynch, stating he intends to fall some bush on his property, &:id asking permission to fall the bush on roadhne fronting his section ; Chief Sura reyor, re West Waitapu road ; Secretary Hospital Board, re el. ction of members ; Thomas Lowes, re an obstruction on the Waitapn ruad ; — BWler, re certain trees felled across the track; F. S. Goodbebere, asking permission to fell the bush on the roadline in front of sections 13 and 15, Block XL, on the Board's usual terms; Chief Sui veyor, with reference to complaint of AJessrs Fowler and Lowes ; Samuel Hewing, refusing to allow deviation of road through his property; Peter Murph.v, on same subject, also refusing; R Hart, applying to fell certain bush on roadline ; telegram, advising Stmdon thirds had been paid to the Board's credit nt the Bauk ; Engineer's report on the roads in the district ; Clerk Manchester Eoad Board, re making Cheltenham Cross road, and refusing to consent ; Colonial Treasurer, a> knowledair.g receipt of an unexpended portion of a loan of £1968, with apology for not having done no before — apology accepted ; W. G. Hay» bittle, asking hi 9 name to be put on roll instead of the late Henry Churton for section 69, Pohaneina— alteration made.
Mr Lucas described the nature of the alleged damage being done, referred to in letter from Mr Hankins. Mr Williamson thought it would be well t© acquire the land. Letter from R. Cornish, stating the recent floods had done certain injury to his contract, iherefore he had suspended operations, pending. Mr ljucas proposed and Mr Taylor seconded, That R. Hart be allowed to fell bush on the usual terms, uot to exce-d 30s, to be paid when the Board is ia funds. — Carried. S. Bellye's application was held over. Ec Shortfall's contract. Mr Lucas proposed and Mr Mills seconded, That the Board lake over the work. The contractor had been ruined by the slips. The Engineer said there would not be any loss to the Board. General sympathy was expressed with Mr Shorthall in his misfortune. Mr Lucas said that as the Engineer could complete the work with the balance due on it, the Board could get mca to do it.— Carried. Ec Cornish's contract. Slips had also damaged his contract. The Engineer reported that Cornish had stuck to his contract maufully. He bad worked five months far nothing. He recommended the contract be canceled. Mr Williamson moved, Mr Lucas seconded. That Cornish's contract bridle track No 3, Foxton Small 1 arm Block, be cancelled. — Carried. LLeft Sitting.]
