Feilding School Committee
The usual monthly meeting of this Committee was held at the schoolbouse, last evening. Present — Messrs Watts (chairman), Worsfold, Curtia, Reading, and J. (3. Thompson. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The master's monthly report was read, showing : — Average roll, 280 ; average attendance, 173. Comparison of corresponding period — Decrease on roll, 24 ; attendance, 43. Correspondence was read as follows : — | From Education Board, stating they I had no funds available except for repairs to school buildings or master's residence. | From same, stating that the matter referred to in the resolution of the committee, re the Head Teacher, had been referred to Mr Sanson. From same, re appointing auditor for committee's accounts. Resolved, That the Feildmg Committee protests most emphatically against the manner in arhich the Board has treated the business brought before it in reference to the removal of the Heai Teacher of this school. Further, the Committee expects the matter will be definitely decided at the next meeting of the Board, in accordance with the Committee's recommendation. Also, the Committee wish to call the attention of the Board to the damage the sohool suffers by its delay- j ing the settlement of this important business. Resolved, That Mr L. Clapham be appointed auditor. Accounts were passed for payment, and the meeting adjourned.
