The Mayoral Election

TO,.TfIE EDITOR OF THE STAR. Sir, — As I am rathsr interested in the future welfare of Feilding, I would .like to say a few words on the coming election. I think that the general feeling, at present in the Borough of ".Feilding; is that a change in the members of the Borough Council. is essen- < tial to the future progress of Feilding. : Some may aay that there has been a ; •change, -lit;- the members , of. late. I admit that f but not sufficient, I pre- ] presume, to be of much, if any, use, ' for as yet the. old party is the strongest.. /Therefore, it is of little use for -| the new /members to say auy thiug ' that, is .in any way contrary to the < ideas of ,the other side. Now that '< there is , a favorable opportunity to i make .a, successful termination - to the' r < ' change "which, has been going on of late, I hope that everyone who is' at all interested in the welfare of Feild--ing, will not fail to embrace.it by \. doing their best to put Dr Monckton in as Mayor. Hot .that I have anything against/Mr Goodhehere, for he io a man whom I reßpect ; but I think - that a change, is sadly, wanted in the - head of the Council ; or, I might say, the change that has been going on of '' late Bhouldbe carried on a little further. I will, conclude hy saying, to those who are satisfied to have things go on in the same old style as they have been of late, vote for Mr Goodbehere ; and to those who have got sense enough to see that a change is sadly wanted, vote for Dr Monckton ! — I am, &c, •;" Roll up to Ihe Poll.
