The miners arrested for tailing part in the riot at Adamstown, four miles from JNewcastie, have appealed against the sentence passed by the magistrate, and the case was heard yesterday. His Honour acquitted the accused, and said that the verdict in regard to one prisoner was directly agaiust the evidence, and contrary to law. He recommended the Crow n Prosecutor to inform the Attorney General of the impropriety of trying any such cases in coal districts.
