Horticultural Society
A public meeting was held in Mr E, Goodbehere's office last evening. Present — Messrs F. Y. Lethbridge (President), H. L. Sherwill, E. Barton, T. Hall, Churcher, Fowles (senr.), Robinson, Weightman, Kirton, Gosling, H. Worsfold, Goodbehere, E. Worsfold, and Gt. C. Hill.
The secretary, Mr Goodbehere, read a statement of accounts for last year's shows, which showed a credit balance of £2 19s lOd.
Mr H. Worsfold proposed, That the usual spring and autumn shows be held. Seconded by Mr Gosling and carried.
It was resolved to hold the shows on the first Thursday in December and the first Thursday in March.
The following officers were elected —Mr F. Y. Lethbridge, President Mr H. L. Sherwill, Vice-President.
Mr Worsfold proposed that the gentlemen present be elected a Committee, which was seconded by Mr Lethbridge, and carried.
Mr E. Goodbehere was elected Secretary and Treasurer unanimously.
The meeting then went into Committee, and the following sub-commit-tees were appointed : —
Schedule Committee. — Messrs H. Worsfold, Barton, Hall, Weightman, Hill, Sherwill ; to report to a general meeting on Friday next, at 8 p m.
Canvassing Committee. — All the members, who were requested to do their best.
