At Outram, Samuel Shaw, of Berwick, was committed for trial for making a false declaration. A Mrs Sparks, having left her husband, had been living with Shaw, and on her death Shaw reg» istered her as his wife. Hence these proceedings.
Mrs Fahey, who sustained severe injury when escaping from the recent fire on Monday morning, died in the Hospital this morning.
Auckland, October 17
A boy named Augustine Murphy, 5| years of age, was killed this erening at the railway siding near Mount Eden Goal. The unfortunate little fellow was with his two brothers and some other boys playing within an empty truck, pushing it backward and forward along the line The deceased fell in front of the wheels of the truck, and it passed orer him. Death was instantaneous.
Mrs Banes, a passenger by to-day's Kaipara train, alighted from a carriage while it was in motion, and was caught by her dress and dragged under the car. Both of her legs were crushed and had to be amputed. '
A. lad of eight years of age named Henry McLaren was accidentally drowned from a punt in Kaihu Creek, Darga* ville, on Monday last.

The body of Matthew George, one of the two fisherman drowned in Lake KUesmere oo October 5, was found in the lake near Irwell to day.
