The proposal for farthing bids at the wool auctions has been adopted by the London woolbrokers, and the innovation will commence at the November series. An Adelaide cargo of wheat nas been sold at 425, and a carge of Aug. ÜBt shipment at 42s 6d. The wool series olosed to-day with the market firm. The number of bales catalogued since the opening was 235,000, of which 104,000 were fiold for export, and 130,000 for home consumption; 10,000 bales were held over for next sales. October 11. At a meeting of wool buyers, a resolution was passed that farthing bids at wool auctions would not benefits either importers or purchasers as the change would involve unbearable extra labour, confusion, and lobb.
