' Weliington, This D=»yDuring the past six months the following Crown Lands have beent ->lcr-n up for settlement : — For cash, 33,564 acres; deferred payment, 22,262; perpetual lease, 71,714, including pastoral leases ; total amount taken up by 1106 selectors was 232,546 ncros. During pre\ious six months 1144 selectors took up 241,146 acres, but this included 35,274 acres held by 316 settlers under Special Settlement Associations, whereas during the last six months the area so occupied was only 9658 acres.
