STOCK REPORTS. Messrs Donald Reid & Co. report :— Fat Cattle — There was a large support unexpected forward, ranging from medium to very prime, and including some big weights. Bidding was fairly active and throughout prices, were well up to those obtained at last week's sale. Bullocks sold at £5 7s 6d to £10 7s 6d, oue extra heavy polled Angus to £1 1 7s 6d ; cows £4 to £8 ss. Fat Sheep -A very large supply; a large portion were wethers. Butchers oeing well cleaned out bought freely ; there were also several buyers for freezing— this helped to clear the large number penned, which, in most cases, sold at equal to last week's quotations. The quality, taking the average, was very good. Crossbred wethers Bold at 12s 6d to 17s 3d ; one pen extra heavy at 18s ; crossbred ewes sold at lis 6d to 16s; merino wethers, 10s to 14s. Lambs — There was some brisk bidding for hest drafts with fair prices ruling. Best sold at 10s to 13s 6d; others 6s 9s. Store Sheep— Brisk request for all sorts, with but few offering. Geetmouth, October 2. At the cattle sale 100 head were offered. The average price was £9 8s all round. Beef is quoted at 20s to 218 per 1001 b. Three hundred and fifty-seven sheep were sold, at an average of 18s 6d. Mutton is quoted at 3£dperlb.
