The Mahakipawa Goldfield
(PER UNITED PRKBB ASSOCIATION.) Blenheim, September 22. Two parties have bottomed iv the main Mahakipawa Creek. Gome's party have now got 64 ounces in their claim. There are good prospects in the main creek terraces. A rich leader has been struck in the prospectors' reef. Gorrie's find for the week is £129 among five men. Just-in-time shares have risen 50 per cent, and Duke of Maryborough 100 per cent. There is great excitement here. September 24. A 260z nugget valued at £91 now at the National Bank, Blenheim, came from 8. Maiff's claim on the right branch of the Mahakipawa creek. A good deal of quartz was adhering. It was found within a few yards of the reef, which encourages the belief that the reef is rich. The richness of the field is now beyond doubt. There is no need of hesitation in chronicling finds. A rush has broken out on the Waikakaha range within two hours of Blenheim, Over 100 claims were pegged out yesterday. Havblock, September 24. A rush has set in at Waikakaho, near Tua Marina, connected with the right hand branch. Two hundred men were there yesterday. A 260z nugget was found by Scaife and party on Saturday, and was sold to the manager of the National Bank at £3 10s.
