West Coast Cricket
A meeting of delegates appointed to meet in reference to the formation! '. of a West Coast Cricket Association i was held at the Prince of Wales Hotel ' Wanganui on Wednesday. There were ■' present— Messrs Tennent, president, (in the chair), Skipwith, secretary, ,.. Watt (Wanganui), J. Wrighfcsdn' (Fending), Perm and Hatrick (Black. > heath), Barnett (Palmerston), Shields I and Marshall (Collegiate School), RidI diford and Bayly (Ha wera). The. > chairman mentioned that the president of the Wanganui Club had presented. ' a trophy, and explained the objects of ■ the meeting/ Th 6' following clubs signified their intention of joining the- 1 > Association :— Inglewood (senior), Feilding (junior and senior), Halcombe, Tikorangi (New Plymouth), , New ■Plymouth (Senior), Hai^era^ i College (probably senior and junior)* Blackheath (junior). ■ Halcombe *&d ■ Tikorangi joined conditionally: TJh© 1 chairman remarked that as soon^ as_ the dubs joining had sent in theix^- - names, a ballot could be taken to fir 1 the sides. The annual subscription \ was fixed at two guineas for i\» Senior Cup and one guinea for the Jun- : ior Cup. It was decided that there ' should be a Junior and Senior Cup proyided that there were no less thani . three entries for each. The season was fixed to extend from the Ist October to the Isth ! April. JK was reV i solved that each club should play one , match with every other club, t|te club : securing the greatest- number 'of- wins i* to be the winner. The following ' ofilcer»:were elected :— Bresident— 1 Mr Wm. Alexander ; vice-presidents. Messrs Epsom and J. Gt. 'Wison^ M.H.R. ; hon. sec. and treasurer, Mr James Watt; a delegate from each club to be nominated for the general committee. The order of the matches and the dates as far as could be fixed were then arranged and the meeting adjourned.— Herald. i ,
