Ashhurst School.
The examination of the scholars iv the above school took place on Tbursday and Friday, the 6th and 7th inst., and the result must have been very gratifying both to the parents, school committee, and the master, Mr D. W. Campbell, M.A., It is pleasing to have to record such a satisfactory pass as that of 86*2 per cent, omitting exceptions. Following are the results of various standard,:— Standard I. — Presented, 26; passed, 22; failed 4. Standard II. — Presented, 26 ; passed, 24 ; excepted, 1 ; absent, I. Standard HI. — Presented, 23 ; passed, 14 ; excepted, 3 ; failed, 6. Standard IV. — Presented, 12 ; passed, 10 ; absent, I ; failed, 1. Standard V.— Presented, 6 ; passed, 4 ; excepted, 1 ; failed, 1.. Standaad VT. — Presented, 1 ; passed, 1. — Mana,vatu Times. Cobbe and Darragh have a good selection of garden tools, consisting of spades, rakes, hoes, and trowels. They also hold a large stock of Yates' renowned garden seeds.
