During the three weeks ending the 80th of August, 344 selectors have taken up 91,187 acres under the three sy a terns, of cash sales, deferred pay* nient, and perpetual lease, as against a total area, of 37,371 acres taken up by 248 selectors in the quarter ending the 30th of September of last year. Perpetual lease seems to be the most popular tenure, no less than 44,535 acres having been selected under this system by 194 persons. Land Bold for cast comes next in order of quantity, 17,016 acres having been Bold to 77 persons for an aggregate sum of Ll 3,704, while only 9637 acres were taken up on deferred payment by 73 selectors.
