TO THE KDITOK OF THE STAR. Sik,— l am much surprised, at the decision bf the Feilding School Committee,^re^iiesting the Wanganui Education*'aoaM' to appoint a Head Teacher in place of Mr Dowling ; but I hope, anid trust the Education Board is composed of wiser men. I consider much of the success of public elementary teaching depends on parents enforcing "dihgence iii -the study of home lessons, many parents- being very negligent of that important pari of their duty ; and, aome being ignorant themselves, attribute the failure oi their children- under examination at eolely the fault of the Head Teacher The saying, there is no Royal road tc learning, holds good; here.
