We have to report a sharp rise in the value of sheep at the sale at Wanganui on Wednesday last Cattle also were in better demand. Nc atock of any. consequence came forforward at Waverley, but at Palmerston last week a fair entry was yarded. Pigs were well competed for, and maintained last sale's values; Oui quotations are:— Cattle— At Palmerston : Fat cows, £3 jo £3 14s. At.Waverley : Weaners, 17s 6d. At Wanganui ; Fat cows, light weights, £3 2s 6d ; 3-year- old heifers, £3 10s; 18-month steers, 25s «d ; 2^year-old l&ifora, 27s 6d ; forward' cows, £2; weaners, 12s 6d ; milch cows, £2; to. £4 2g6d. Sheep— At Palmerston: Fat ewes, 10s 7d ; woolly hQggets; 8s 7d ; shorn, 7s 8d ; culls, 6s Old. At St. Hill Street; Fat wethers, 14s 6d to 14s 9d ; store wethers, 12s 6d to 12s 7d ; woolly hoggets, 9»4d. Pigs— Baconers, 30s; porkers, 12s to 22s 6d ; stores, 6s 6d,j to 1 > 6d. Poultry— Fowls, 2s 6d to 3s ; ducks, -4s a couple.
