GREYMOUTH STOCK REPORT.
Monday, August 20. [ Cattle.-T-The- market was well supL plied to-day, there being 76 bullocks . and 17 heifers from the Wanganui and five bullocks and four , heifers from the Grey Valley, all of ; which were sold. The quality of the Wanganui cattle was from prime to medium, and that of the local cattle ', medium to stores. Fox and O'Neil's bullocks which were the heaviest, .averaged £8 lls 9d all round, the top price reached being £10 10s, and the lowest £7 58 ; their 17 heifers averaging £5. John.M'Gregor's 43 bullocks .which were of medium weight, averaged £7 14s 3d, the top price being £9 15s, 'and the lowest £6. Coate's local bullocks, five, brought from £7 158 to. £4 10s, , and four heifers £5 5s to £4 ss. We quote prime beef at 2U per lOOlbs, and medium to inferior at 208. Sheep.— 443 ;vere to hand, and they were all quitted except about 50. Fox and O'Neil's heavy wethers 112, averaged 17s ; and 86 of M'Gregor's mixed sexes 15s 6d to 15s 9d. 80 cross- breds from Canterbury, Russell's, brought 118 6dto 12s; and 120 do, Pullen's 12s 3d. Best mutton to-day was worth from 2f d to 3d per lb. Pigs. — 103 were penned, comprising from heavy fats to stores, and all were quitted at last sale prices, viz., from 4£d to 5d per lb. <
