A Night School
■; ♦ ■ It will be seen by advertisement elsewhere that Mr James, of the State School, will shortly start a nightschool in Feildiug, if sufficient induce■ment offers. There are numbers of lads and young men in our town to whom such an. advantage would be very useful, and it is to be hf»ped that they will not be backward,; but will make their wants known to Mr James as soon as possible. la these days of free public schools the man. who, by ill-luck, has never had the benent o£ any schooling, will be sure to find himself at a disadvantage in the race as compared with his younger and better educated rivals. A night-school tnves ailsuch a chance of improving their. cpaditioa id life* Education is ■everything now-a-days, and the man whocaanot read, and write is simply nowhere in the struggle of Uf e. Ihe terms proposed by Mr James are very moderate (about twelve and sixpence a quarter for two nights a week) and place the blessings of education within the reach of all. We hope that enough pupils may offer themselves to •enable the school to be started, and that young men will not allow any feeling of false shame to hinder their ■own good.
