Wanganui Harbor Board Endowment Block
: ♦" : The Board met in Wanganui on Monday last and, with other correspondence* a letter was read from the Xiwitea Road Board declining to uudertake the road work required on the Harbour Board block, unless the money needed was first placed to the credit of the Kiwitea Board. The letter suggested that the engineer of the Board, Mr Bray, might be asked to undertake the superintendence of the work and the preparation of the plans and, Mr Bray wrote offering to do what was required. A committee was appointed, consisting of the Chairman aud Mr Laird, with full power to arrange with Mr Bray about the opening up of part of the unsold portion of the endowment block. The Secretary asked for instructions with regard to leaseholders who were in arrears and who were receiving rent for properties held under the Board. He particularised a case were a leaseholder who was in arrear had sublet the premises and was receiving the Tent. A general instruction was given to the secret iry to take any steps which he might consider necessary.
