General Boulauger has resigned in consequence of the defeat of his motion for a dissolution of the Chamber. The police have seized a manifesto issued by a committee of Mayors of Parisian municipalities, condemning a Republican form of Government, and asserting that a Monarchial Government only can estabish a durable Government. M. Flouquet challenged Boulanger for calling him a liar in the Chamber j of Deputies. A duel was fought with j swords and after a fierce encounter Boulanger was slightly wounded in ■ the thigh and rather seriously in the thoat. Flouquet was slightly wounded in the hand, foot, and breast. Capetown July 11. Dinizulu's force has shrank to fifteen hundred men. By a fire at the entrance of the Debeer mine at Kimberley, eight hundred miners were entombed.
