The Manchester Eifles will be inspected by Lieut.-Col. Stapp on Friday next. All absentees will be fined. The 25th anniversary of the Marton Royal Rifles was celebrated by a ball on Friday last. There were about 150 couples present. The Napier Rifle Company presented Major Blythe with a sword and pair of spurs, on his promotion. New regulations will shortly be issued. Instead of the rule which requires two-thirds of a company to attend drill in order to constitute a parade, the new regulations will only require one-Ualf of the company to be present.
