It is expected that the Sherard Osborne will complete her work at the New Zealand cables in a day or two, and that she will leave for Sydney on Saturday. The boy Me Minn, who was found guilty of stealing a ring, was sentenced to 6 days 1 imprisonment and a whipping. Nelson, July 4. An old man named James Way, 70 years old, died under peculiar circumstan* ces this morning. He had injured his arm, and had obtained a lotion, which he appears to hare drunk by mistake* Auckland, July 4. Edward Boyle, gumdigger, of Helens* ville, is in custody, charged with attempt* ing to murder Annie Hill, with whom he has lived for some years. The woman states that Boyle on Monday afternoon at' tacked her with a knife. During the struggle he exclaimed, "I'll kill you."
