Football

• (Notes by " Oep Side.") Flayers are requested to roll up to practice on Saturday in full force. A scratch match will be played between sides chosen by B. Whisker and G. Saywell. The team will be picked on Saturday night to play the Foxton team at that place on the 7th of July. There is one' thing the captain of the team should try and put a stop to, and that is, so much talking and wrangling when they are practising, I must say it is a very nasty habit some of the players are getting into, and the sooner they cure themselves of it the better. The result of the game on Saturday last proved rather a surprise to the visitors, who expected they would have an easy victory. I feel pretty confident that if our forwards had played with a little more judgment and not kicked the ball so hard, the scores would have been more.
