Sough on Gangers
Consternation has been caused by the issue of, an order as follows:— ** During the rough weather and heavy rains it is expected that platelayers will be on the alert as by a little attention to drains and culverts xnuch damage may be avoided. I hare more than once noticed some of 'the gangs sheltering in heavy rains when this is just the time the men should be on the line. If I have occasion to find fault again for this defaulting gangers will be reduced or dismissed. It will be assumed that tJiere has been neglect if damage happens to a line from storm water, and the matter ■will not be overlooked. I —Auckland correspondent Wanganui Herald.
