(MB UNITED PRFBS ASSOCIATION.) Dunedin, June 11. Robert Hogan, a bootmaker in Maitland street, committed suicide early this morning by cutting his throat. At a meeting of artisans and others interested in the manufacture ot agricultural machinery, it was decided to ask Government to impose a duty on reapers and binders. Wellington, June 11. Mr Butts, who has been postmaster in Wellington for the last last 16 years, is to be transferred to Dunedih taking M r Barr'g place. The latter retires oa a pen. sion It is intended to work Welling on office in connection with the head office, and do away with the office of postmaster. Mr Hoegard, chief clerk, will be in charge but will not be oalled postmaster. CHBisTCHtrKCH June 11. Mrs Harper, wife of the Primate, died this morning,, aged 84. ' W^noaniti, June 11. The Rev. J. Tread well, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, preached on Sal niond's Reifcn of Grace last night, unequivocally condemning it as uusupportable from Holy Writ. H«^ severely censored the author for holding such opinions for so long and not giving pub* licity to them. : '
