Manchester Road Board
TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR. Sib, — I should like to ask through the medium of your valuable paper how it is that the meeting called for ratepayers of No. 5 ward is appointed to be held outside the ward's boundary. It hardly seems consistent that one ward should be compelled to go out of its own precincts to vote for improvements to be made in said ward. Why not call the meeting at the Mangaone school-house, which is situated near the centre of No. 5 ward. — I am, &c, Ratepayek. Ashhurst Eoad, June 6, 1388.
