Lyne v. Kiwitea Road Board

At the District Court, Palmerston, on Thursday Mr Staite applied for a new trial of this case (in which the jury gave a verdict in favor of the defendant Board on the 18th instant) on the grounds of misdirection of the Judge, and that the verdict was against the weight of evidence. Mr Hankins, instructed by Mr Goodbehere, appeared for the defendant Board. The application was refused by the learned judge, who stated that he was , perfectly satisfied with the verdict of the jury, and that the evidence given at the trial was perfectly conclusive in favor of the Board.
