Football
("Notes by il Off Side.")
In the match on Saturday between the local team- and the natives, the latter were defeated by five points to nil, and not six as stated in yesterday's issue. A. Parr obtained two tries, and F. Saywell oue, the first of which Parr converted into a gaol. The following players showed good form in the mateh — A. Parr, F. Saywell, W. and M. Belfit, G. Lloyd, W. Watts, Campbell, Robinson, Benny, Taki, and Kewe.
Our local players have a very nasty habit of indulging in too much talking and wrangling when they are practising;. I would advise them to cure themselves of it as soon as possible. Players are requested to be prepared for the match against the Wanganui Fire Brigade which comes off to-morrow.
The Palmeraton team defeated the Woodville team by ten points to nil on Saturday. A team will be picked from the following to represent the Feilding Fire Brigade against the Wanganui Fire Brigade tomorrow:—M. and W. Belht, Broughton, Benny, Campbell, Collins, Corkery, Coleman, Iyeson, Keetly (2), Kewe, Kitchen, Parr, Robiuaon, Smith, Saywell (2), Taki, Terry, Poad, Watts, Whisker (2).
