The Manchester Bines will parade for Government inspection to-morrow (Friday) at 7.30 p.m., and on Thursday, the 24tb instant (the Queen's Birthday), at the Barracks, at 10 a.m. The following circular has been received :— .-.i ■:■:■: ;
Defence Office, "Wellington, May 11. With reference to- Circular No, 19, of the 20th ult., officers commanding districts are informed that the musketry course for recruits will be as heretofore except in the volley and independent practices they will fire as trained men. The Volunteer Regula* tions will.be amended shortly to give legal effect to the alterations contained in this and Circular 19.
In Napier the noa-commissioned officers hold a class of instruction on certain stated evenings. This example could be followed with advantage on this coast.
