Australian Mutual Provident Society

The thirfcyninfh annual meeting of the above Society will be held in Sydney on Wednesday next. The Directors' report states that during the year 1887 97(8 proposals were accepted, assuring the sum ■of £3,156,695. The number of policies issued since the estabu lishment of the Society to the 31st December, 1887, is 120,624, assuring L 42, 690,717. The annual income from pres iniums amounts to L 970.957 8s 7d, and from interest L 452.627 4s Bi, making the total revenue of the Society L 1.423,584 13s. The surplus over liabilities on December 31st, 1887, was L 614.325 18* -fid, The Directors have resolved to distribute a cash bonus amongst the members of L 375.343 7s Id. Amongst New Zealand Directors Mr C. J- Pharazyn has become disqualified, and Mr 6. M. Waterhouse, iYI .L C-, has been appointed *o fill the yacancy.
